Trakehner Champion and Reserve Hanoverian Champion
At the Trakehner licensing in 2005, Herzensdieb was celebrated with overwhelming applause by the spectators and was awarded champion stallion by the judges. "This stallion is not just moving, but dancing," so the enthusiastic comment on this remarkable prospect. Breeding manager Lars Gehrmann added: "Endowed with the aura of something special, this stallion embodies the classical Trakehner upgrader type."
Herzensdieb was sold in 2005 for the highest price ever paid at a Trakehner stallion auction and is now owned by Leatherdale Farms, USA.
Herzensdieb's sire Tambour started his career in 1998 as Premium stallion of his licensing in Neumünster. He placed fourth in his performance test at Prussendorf in 1999 and won several jumping performance tests up to novice and elementary level. In 2000, he was awarded Trakehner Show Jumping Champion and has been trained afterwards in dressage up to advanced level by Christoph von Daehne. As a six-year-old he was the only stallion of his age group, being announced Elite stallion candidate. Tambour is sire of auction horses, Premium mares and successful sport horses. He had two licensed sons at the Trakehner licensing in 2005, who are closely related: the champion stallion Herzensdieb and Herzog.
Herzensdieb's dam, the States Premium mare Herzensfreude, scored a 9.11 at her mare performance test and was the best three- year-old mare in Schleswig-Holstein in 2001. In 2002, she was successful at the Federal Breeding show in Neustadt/ Dosse in the dressage class of three- and four- year-old mares. The granddam, States premium mare Herzenslust, is reigning champion mare in Schleswig- Holstein and was winner of her mare performance test. She is half sister to the Premium stallion Herbstkristall. The H- line of the Hessian Hausstiftung Gestüt Panker goes back to the mare Herbstzeit (Bussard) who originally came from Trakehnen. This dam line has produced several licensed stallions like the champion stallion Herzzauber and the sires Herzkönig, Herzbube (sire of Heuriger ridden by Ellen Bontje/NED, vice champion of the Dressage World Championships) and Herzfunke. There are also successful dressage horses like the dressage star Harlem and highly awarded breeding mares, also. In the third generation of Herzensdieb, there is a valuable inbreeding component over Elite mare Tilsit III. Tilsit III is the dam of the licensed stallions Tenor (Tümmler), Tivano (Tümmler, successful up to Prix St. Georg) and Tuareg (Random, successful up to Prix St. Georg). Her daughter, States Premium mare Taenzerin V (Consul), was an immensely successful broodmare: in 1991, she was champion of the Central Mare Licensing in the class of three- year-olds in Schleswig Holstein, in 1994, champion of the State Breeding Show in Schleswig- Holstein and in the same year she got the 1a- Award at the Federal Broodmare Show in Warendorf. She produced three licensed sons: the two full brothers Tambour and Thalys (both Hohenstein I) and Travell (Abisko). *** To see Herzensdeib and other fabulous Trakehner stallions go to the video of the equine German site www.horse-gate.com/trakehner_2007/
